SHOJIKI
Rewinding dozens of rolls of adhesive tape using tiny motors. This is the sound practice of Shojiki, who use switches to control the direction of rotation of the motors as well as their de/activations. The Japanese duo's performance analogically links the two processes of "rewinding a magnetic tape" and "rewinding an adhesive tape". In the same way that magnetic tape, which is a medium for sound reproduction, is coated with a powder that can be magnetised, the tape, coated with an adhesive agent, can be stuck and stripped several times, generating peeling noises and continuous sounds.
