Dr. Caligari, a sort of erotic and hallucinatory remake of Robert Wiene's expressionist film (Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari, 1920), is a nightmarish and hilarious journey that unfolds, in ultra-stylized vignettes, a critique of psychiatry and the damage of a restrained libido, all with a unique and highly creative filmic energy.
