Instead of our frequent penchant for bloody fun and guts, this year we have opted for a programme of the realistic absurd. From sequence-shot to surrealist collage, its cinematic inventiveness is as impressive as the diversity of its themes. Touching on social apathy, trauma, hypocrisy and other issues with subtlety, irony and humour, it is still there to entertain, but also disturb and confuse. As our program is inevitably a panorama of weirdness and absurdity. But isn’t the absurd itself a commentary on life ?
